Congratulations to Penny Howard, on becoming our 42nd Honorary Mayor of Fair Oaks! If was a pleasure running with you!
With the help of our Chamber, we did an amazing job raising funds for our chosen charities during the Honorary Mayor campaign! Penny raised a total of $8,753.13, with half of that going to support Del Campo High School’s Visual and Performing Arts program. I raised $4,094.30, with half of that going to the Fair Oaks Theatre Festival.
It’s incredible to think that over the past 42 years, this event has raised over $474k for our Fair Oaks community. We’re so grateful for the support of all of our past, present, and future Honorary Mayors. It’s worth noting that this event is non-political, so it’s a great opportunity for everyone to come together and support local causes.
We couldn’t have our usual Honorary Mayor of Fair Oaks gala at Northridge Country Club so we did it on zoom. Here’s the link to the online event. https://www.facebook.com/FOCCAmbassador/videos/315772476199280
I just wanted to extend a warm thank you to everyone who joined in on the fun during my Fair Oaks Chamber Honorary Mayor Campaign! Whether you played our games, grabbed a raffle ticket, shared a meal with us, or showed your support, it meant the world to me. It was such a pleasure to be able to bring some joy and light-hearted distraction to the Fair Oaks community. A special thank you to Kim Patillo, our Fair Oaks Chamber Director, Mary Howard, and John Oldham for all their hard work and dedication in making these events happen. Thank you all once again!
Wow, it’s truly inspiring to see so many people getting involved in their local communities and taking a proactive approach to shaping the future of our town. Participating in this experience was incredibly enriching for me and helped me step out of my comfort zone. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it all and make a difference. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout the journey!
Even though I didn’t come out on top in the campaign, I have to say that it was an incredibly valuable experience. I learned so much and met some amazing people along the way. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have run and I’m looking forward to using all the knowledge I gained and connections I made to continue making a positive impact in my community.
It was so much fun doing the porch portraits! Not only did I get to take some great photos, but I also had the chance to meet some of the wonderful people who live in Fair Oaks. Even though we had to keep a safe distance, it was great getting to know some of my new neighbors. I feel like I made some great friends in the community.
If you’re interested in running for Honorary Mayor of Fair Oaks or getting more involved in your community, I’m more than happy to chat and offer any advice or tips I have. So don’t be shy, feel free to reach out and ask me any questions you may have!
