Being featured on I Love Fair Oaks means something here. Since 2009, neighbors have come to this magazine to discover the people and places worth knowing, and a Business Spotlight puts your business among them.
Most marketing companies create a video for you to post on your own social media. Those videos can be valuable, but they are usually seen by the people who already follow you.
A Business Spotlight is different. I come to your business, we create a short video together, and I personally introduce you to the I Love Fair Oaks audience: local residents who already trust the magazine and return to discover the businesses, services, events, and people who make Fair Oaks and Orangevale special. You are not posting another video into the void.
You are being welcomed into the community.

Your spotlight is your chance to tell the community what matters most to you right now. Maybe you own an auto shop with an oil change special this month. Maybe you are a landscaper who wants homeowners in certain neighborhoods to know you are nearby. Maybe you serve seniors and want families to understand exactly how you help. Maybe you are an estate planning attorney promoting an upcoming workshop, or a CPA heading into tax season with a few tips to share while reminding people you are here when they need you. Maybe you just opened your doors and want the community to meet you.
Whatever you want to say, I will help you say it in a way that feels authentic, local, and worth remembering.
You are investing in visibility, not content
Plenty of talented companies can produce social media content, and that is not what makes a Business Spotlight valuable. The value is the introduction: bringing your business to an established local audience that already follows and trusts I Love Fair Oaks.
People remember a business when someone they trust makes the introduction. Rather than another post reaching the people who already know you, your spotlight reaches neighbors who may be hearing about you for the first time.

Your spotlight does not live in one place. It is shared across several I Love Fair Oaks platforms, so your business keeps working for you well after the video first posts.
Spotlights are filmed on Thursdays only, and I take a limited number each week so every business gets my full time and attention. Thursday is the one day available for booking, so you will need to be free on a Thursday. Spots are reserved first come, first served, and some businesses book several dates ahead to lock in their place, so the calendar can fill up well in advance. When a date is taken, it is gone, so if you want the community to meet you soon, it is worth claiming your spot now. If you do not see an opening that works, send me a message and I will let you know when the next date comes available.
Why I keep this limited
I already create most of what brings readers to I Love Fair Oaks: the articles, stories, videos, journalism, and editorial coverage of local restaurants, events, and the people who make this community what it is. That work brings thousands of monthly visits and keeps readers coming back. I am a writer, so sometimes I am hired to write a feature, and sometimes I choose a business to write about purely as my own editorial and creative work.
The Business Spotlight grew out of that. Rather than fill the magazine with banner ads, I wanted a way for local businesses to benefit from our readership through something our readers would actually enjoy: a personal introduction to the community. I would rather offer a few thoughtful introductions than crowd the platform with advertising, so I keep spotlights limited, and I use them mainly to help support I Love Fair Oaks and the real cost of keeping it running.
Keeping it small is part of what makes it special. A spotlight is not one ad among many. It is a personal introduction from someone the community already trusts, and that is exactly why the businesses I feature are proud to be part of it.
How it works
- Reserve your spotlight.
Choose an available Thursday from the online calendar.
- Complete your booking.
Reserve your appointment with online payment, and you will receive a confirmation email with everything you need beforehand.
- Tell me about your business.
A short questionnaire helps me learn what you do, who you serve, what makes you different, what you most want the community to know, and whether you are promoting a service, offer, event, workshop, or seasonal message.
- Your filming visit.
I spend about an hour with you capturing authentic footage and recording your on-camera welcome.
- We share you with the community.
Your spotlight is edited and published across the I Love Fair Oaks platforms.
Who it’s for

Booking and cancellation policy
Please make sure you are ready to commit before you reserve. When you book a spotlight, you are holding a limited Thursday spot that no one else can take.
All bookings are final and non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, you may do so one time, and your request has to reach me at least 48 hours before your scheduled visit. If you miss your appointment or ask to reschedule with less than 48 hours notice, your spot is forfeited and no refund is given.
I keep this firm out of fairness to every business waiting for a date, so please book only when you are sure you are ready.
A note on real estate
Real estate is part of my own work. As a real estate advisor, I use I Love Fair Oaks in part to promote my clients’ listings to the community. Because real estate is my own field, I do not promote other real estate businesses or brokerages, and Business Spotlights are not available to other agents, teams, or brokerages.
A single listing is different. If you are an agent with a property you would like in front of the Fair Oaks community, I am glad to create a video promoting that listing and give you full credit for it. That is listing promotion, not a Business Spotlight for your business. Get in touch and we can talk about it.
Questions
Is this a marketing package?
No. A Business Spotlight is a community media feature published through I Love Fair Oaks, created to bring your business to local residents through a platform they already trust.
Do you create ongoing content for my own social media?
No. Your spotlight is made for publication across the I Love Fair Oaks platforms. If you are looking for ongoing content or social media management, you will be better served by a company that specializes in that.
Can I share my spotlight?
Yes. Once it is published, you are welcome to share the post with your own audience.
Will I receive the finished video file?
Your spotlight is created for publication through I Love Fair Oaks, so your purchase includes the published feature and the ability to share it. A separate video file for your own unrestricted use is not included unless we agree to it in writing.
Does this include photography or a full feature article?
No. Your spotlight is the video and its publication across the I Love Fair Oaks platforms. Written features, standalone photography, longer articles, and additional videos are available separately.
What if I already have a video I love?
Reach out before booking. In some cases I can publish professionally produced video you already have through a separate feature. Content created by another company is not automatically shared on I Love Fair Oaks, so publishing it through the platform is its own service.
Can I book more than once?
Yes. Many businesses return through the year to promote new services, seasonal offers, workshops, and events. Future sessions are booked and paid for as appointments remain available.
Are views or sales guaranteed?
No. I cannot promise a specific number of views, inquiries, or sales. What your investment provides is publication, community visibility, and a genuine introduction to the I Love Fair Oaks audience.
Who controls the final edit?
I do. You are encouraged to share the details and message that matter most to you, and I keep editorial control over the final video, caption, written feature, and publication schedule so everything stays consistent with the platform and right for the audience.
